8/3/19 - Copper 100K / 200K / 400K

DESCRIPTION: The colors are getting ready to change so we're off to Copper Center for a trio of late-season rides along the Copper River. The 100K and 200K are out-and-backs that head south on the Richardson and then east along Edgerton Highway towards Chitina.  The 400K route mirrors the first half of the 200K route and goes Copper Center / Valdez / Copper Center.  All three routes include 10 miles of the Old Edgerton Highway, unpaved hardpan which is very road bike friendly.  Riders will have an option to bypass the Old Edgerton Highway segment and instead ride around via paved Edgerton Highway, which adds about 4M to the route.  All three rides are 100% un-supported, so 400K riders should have some water purification plan at hand when taking on this ride.  I usually ride with a SteriPen, there are many treatable clear groundwater options available along the route.

Please note -- after the start, you are on your own!

(We will sweep and account for all riders at the finish.)
